They Were the Stars of Yesterday, But You Won’t Believe What They’re Doing in Retirement

They were the glitterati of the yesteryears, wowing audiences of all ages with their beauty and talent alike. Decades later, we wonder what have become of these once-shining stars. While there are some that are still very much visible in movies to this day, there are others who are now comfortable in retirement. Some can even claim to have just as much drama in their personal lives as the roles that they once played, be it in the guise of divorce or alcoholism. Regardless of where they are now, these stars of yore can all say for certain that they enjoyed their high net worth and success to the fullest.

Diana Ross – 75 Years

Born in 1944, Diana always had a thing for music and it is no wonder she went on to enjoy a successful career as an artist. She rose to stardom as the lead singer of The Supremes, a female vocal group that went on to write history as the best charting female group.

Diana is still ruffling music feathers and has also made inroads in the fashion industry when she launched her signature fragrance Diamond Diana. Maybe sky is the limit for this buzzing queen who seems not to be limited by the passage of time.

Tina Turner – 80 Years

Dubbed, the ‘Queen of Rock and Roll,’ Tina Turner has produced many all-time hits, including the ever-popular ‘Proud Mary.’ With 12 Grammy awards and multiple appearances among the ‘Greatest artists of all time’ lists, Tina has had the exemplary career many artists only aspire to have!

While she retired from stage performances more than a decade ago, Turner still hasn’t left the limelight, with her appearances on TV shows, red carpets and releasing her best-selling memoirs. And the most iconic of them all: becoming the oldest person to grace the cover of Vogue at 73!

Bette Midler – 85 Years

The singer and actress has redefined ageless beauty and is one of the most adored entertainers. In her acting career, which spans over five centuries, Bette Midler has garnered several awards that speak of her magical Hollywood journey. She bagged a Golden Globe Award on her motion picture debut! Since then, it has been win after win in film and in the studio where she churned out smash hits.

Recently, the actress added a Tony Award to her enviable collection for ‘Hello Dolly.’ Bette doesn’t seem to slow down anytime soon and dedicates much of her time to charity work.
