STARS WITH SURPRISINGLY AVERAGE JOBS THAT WILL MAKE YOU SAY, “THEY DO WHAT NOW?”

Being an actor, actress, musician, model, filmmaker, or just about any sort of celebrity is a very lucrative job that can put you on a payroll huge enough to ensure millions of dollars in one’s bank account. Like all jobs, however, it may become too routine for some, especially those who have different passions outside of the industry. Which is why it’s not at all uncommon when popular celebrities who already have millions of dollars as their net worth surprisingly pursue other careers. On the other hand, there are also those who have no choice but to pursue other ways to make a living as their careers have either fizzled out or even been derailed because of circumstances like substance abuse or botched plastic surgery procedures. Either way, it’s definitely interesting to see stars outside of their natural, showbiz habitats.

Michael Schoeffling – Carpenter

Michael Schoeffling was one of the 80s’ most popular young actors, thanks to his iconic role as Jake Ryan in the cult classic Sixteen Candles. Despite posters of his face being put up in many teenage girls’ walls, however, his career soon fizzled out after a string of lackluster movies that followed. By 1991, he had gone on retirement from acting for good. At some point, he reportedly got married and moved to Philadelphia where he has since literally carved out a good living as a carpenter and woodworker, making fine furniture like custom cabinets and the like.

Noah Hathaway – Martial artist and racer

Noah Hathaway was just a young actor in the 80s, but he already achieved superstardom, thanks to his starring role in The NeverEnding Story. He then went on to act in several other movies but went into retirement by the time the 90s rolled around after the acting jobs sent his way dwindled. He then went to dance school, which led him to become a teacher. Later, he shifted his focus to martial arts and motorcycle racing, both of which remain his biggest passions to this day.

Jonathan Bennett – Fitness instructor

Jonathan Bennett was a very promising actor, who scored the lead male role in the popular teen flick, Mean Girls. Oddly enough, his career didn’t take off from there. He held a few small roles in Cheaper by the Dozen and Veronica Mars for a time, as well as a hosting gig for the show Cake Wars. He eventually gave up and switched gears to become a personal trainer in Los Angeles, reportedly teaching spinning classes at the popular gym, Flywheels. He has recently made an appearance to reprise his Mean Girls role in Ariana Grande’s Thank You, Next music video.
