News of Toys ‘R’ Us’ Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in September 2017 almost broke the internet with millions of people expressing nostalgia for the popular toy retailer. With over 807 locations worldwide, there’s no doubt that a good percentage of the world’s population has a memory or two of this popular toy store.
Officially 70 years old this year, Toys ‘R’ Us had been struggling for years to compete with online shopping websites and apps such as Amazon. Unfortunately, the Chapter 11 filing was not able to provide relief and in March 2018, Toys ‘R’ Us decided to close shop.
