In this day and age when gender equality is upholded and gender norms are all but passe, many might argue that Ree is not at all setting a good example. After all, she did uproot her life and career in order to live a completely different life centered in the kitchen for her husband. Not only that, she even changed her diet to suit his. Despite this, Ree maintains that Ladd is, in fact, a very modern husband. In fact, the Marlboro Man is not in anyway the “king of the household” in the traditional sense of the word as they are a team. He is even a hands-on dad who takes up the mantle of child care while Ree is busy with her blog and other projects. This is not at all hard to believe as Ladd definitely seems like a great guy.
