People were not surprised when Patrick Mahomes found a career playing football, since he is the son of Pat Mahomes, who was a major league baseball player. Before being drafted in the NFL and getting signed by the Kansas City Chiefs, the quarterback played college football for Texas Tech. When he was 22, Mahomes closed a deal with the chiefs for a whopping $16.4 million, with a signing bonus of $10.1 million.
