Before David Carr played for the NFL, he played college football first with the Fresno State. For the NFL, he played with the Carolina Panthers, New York Giants, and the San Francisco 49ers. He is considered a ‘draft bust’, because even though he was number one draft pick, he failed to meet his team’s expectations. When Carr received his $14 million signing bonus, he already had the one thing he would want to spend his money on, which is a home for his family. However, they did not have much furniture then, so that was what he spent some of his signing bonus on.
