The Search For The Missing Aircraft

During the impact, the plane was torn apart. The tail and both wings were lost in the snow, landing hundreds of meters away from the main fuselage that carried the passengers. Upon receiving news of the aircraft’s disappearance, authorities promptly initiated an aerial search of the supposed crash site.

Several reconnaissance flights were dispatched over the following days. However, the search was unfortunately called off on October 21. According to The Aviation Safety Network, as of 2019, more than 80 commercial aircraft had gone missing in the world, with no trace found, demonstrating the immense challenges faced in such operations.
