Finding The Plane’s Other Half

Many people volunteered to embark on the next expedition. However, not all felt physically equipped to endure the rigorous effort required in such a harsh environment. The last trip consisted of Canessa, Parrado, and Antonio Vizintín. They took with them warm clothing and substantial food rations. Unfortunately, Vizintín couldn’t keep up with the strenuous journey.

When they stumbled upon the midsection of the missing aircraft, he decided to stay there, equipped with basic survival necessities. Meanwhile, Canessa and Parrado pressed on. They endured many challenges, including altitude sickness, temporary blindness, malnutrition, dehydration, and severe cold. These circumstances only underscored their determination and will to survive.
