John McCain and Roberta McCain – Son and mother
Roberta McCain has been a familiar figure in naval and military events for decades now, and a highly respected one, as well, as the wife of a 4-star navy admiral and later, the mother of a decorated soldier. This soldier would turn out to be John McCain, who would go on to become one of the most respected United States Senators, as well as a one-time presidential candidate.
Unfortunately, the Senator passed away this year at age 81 when his cancer treatment ran its course, his mother has outlived him, as she is now 106 years old.
