Melissa Gilbert and Sara Gilbert – Half-sisters
Melissa Gilbert had a very early start in the industry, already taking on acting jobs as a child actress as early as the late 60s. It wasn’t until she was cast as Laura Ingalls in Little House on the Prairie that she became a big star. Since then, she has remained a constant presence in Hollywood, and was even the president of the Screen Actors Guild for a time. Her half-sister, born 12 years later, followed in her footsteps and joined the entertainment world in the late 80s. She is best known for her work in Roseanne and in The Big Bang Theory. Melissa and Sara also have another brother, Jonathan, who also starred in the Little House on the Prairie.
