To this day, John Wayne’s is the most enduring name in the country and western genre of Hollywood movies. He’s had dozens of western movies to his credit for a whopping 50 years, from 1926 to 1977, including classic like True Grit, Stagecoach, Red River, The Searches, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, and countless others.
He died in 1979 at the age of 72, but his legacy lives on in his kids and grand kids, who have since become performers of their own right. One of whom is singer Jennifer Wayne, who is the lead singer and front woman of Runway June.
