These days, there’s little doubt that Robert Downey Jr. rules the box office, largely thanks to his long-running role as Iron-Man in the massively successful Marvel Cinematic Universe series of films. He is also quite an inspiring figure, having bounced back spectacularly from his much-publicized drug addiction problem of the 90’s which had all but derailed his career at that time. What most people don’t know is that Robert’s dad, Robert Downey Sr., was quite a popular actor himself with a career that spanned a good 6 decades before his retirement in 2013. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, however, as Robert’s looks and massive talent had to come from somewhere.
