Edie Sedgwick and Kyra Sedgwick – Cousins
Edie Sedgwick was undisputedly the “it” girl of the late 60s. She was not only an actress, but she was also a model. Most famously, she was Andy Warhol’s muse, starring in several of his short movies. She had a very colorful and often controversial life, getting an abortion at some point and suffering from substance abuse.
She suddenly died in 1971 after an accidental overdose, making her a real pop culture icon almost overnight. She has been outlived by her cousin, actress Kyra Sedgwick, who, it can be argued, is Edie’s complete opposite. Kyra not only enjoys a stable career, but also a stable marriage to actor Kevin Bacon, who she’s been married to and never divorced since 1988.
