Penny Marshall – Complications from diabetes
It was a sad day for all of Hollywood when actress Penny Marshall’s publicist announced to the world that she had passed away on 17th December 2018 due to complications arising from diabetes, a disease which had been dealing with for quite some time.
The 75-year-old actress was living a semi-retired life after having a very active public life as an actress and successful director. She is best known for her role as Laverne on the popular TV sitcom Laverne & Shirley, but she was also the top earning female director of her times with her blockbuster and critically acclaimed movies such as Awakenings, A League of Their Own, Big and Jumpin’ Jack Flash. A huge loss to the movie industry, indeed.
