Andy Whitfield became popular quite fast which is not surprising given that he was often performing shirt-less roles in Spartacus: Blood and Sand. He had all the chances and talent to have a promising career. However, he died in 2011 from cancer when he was only 39. Even if he had life insurance, death would have been inevitable.
