Famous Unexplained Mysteries: 45 Strange Photos Even Scientists Struggle to Explain

A Watch From the Ming Dynasty

A team of archaeologists discovered a strange object in a sealed tomb in Shanxi Province, China, in 2008. The tomb was dated back to the Ming Dynasty, which ruled China from 1368 to 1644, and the object was a small, golden watch. It was about two millimeters thick and had a watch face on the front.

The watch was also marked with the word “Swiss.” This discovery was puzzling because Swiss watches were not made during the Ming Dynasty. Switzerland did not even exist as a country at the time. The mystery of the Ming Dynasty watch remains unsolved, and it’s currently on display at the Shanxi Provincial Museum.
