Who Put the Truck in the Tree?
This photo of a truck stuck in a tree has made the rounds around the internet for a while now and has become a popular meme. However, only a few know the true story behind it. Contrary to popular belief, this isn’t confirmation of the supernatural.
The photo was taken at Carhenge, a roadside attraction in Alliance, Nebraska. Carhenge, a replica of Stonehenge made out of old cars, was built by artist Jim Reinders in 1987 to commemorate his father. The truck was placed in the tree by Reinders in 1990. Reinders used a crane to lift the vehicle into the tree before securing it with cables.
