Nadia Comăneci – Age 56
There’s no doubt that Nadia Comăneci is one of the best gymnasts of all time. She is certainly the most recognizable as she has a rather colorful and more than a little dramatic story attached to her success.
In the 70’s, she earned several Olympic medals for her native Romania, but she later defected to the US, which was widely covered by the media at that time. Now a dual citizen of both countries, she is currently paying it forward by working with charities that help Romanian children.
