It’s not always the case that someone else steals your slippers. They could get carried away by the ocean or disposed of as trash.
This genius idea of locking the footwear to a stand prevents any of those things from happening. Flip flops are not so expensive to purchase, but no one likes constantly repurchasing things that shouldn’t need replacements if they were kept safe. This could quickly become a trend.
