Christian Ponder – $800K Per Year
If anyone knows well what it feels like to have been both on the spotlight and sidelines, it is former American football quarterback Christian Ponder. He went from playing college football at ‘Florida State’ to being drafted by the ‘Minnesota Vikings’ in the 2011 ‘NFL’ draft, after which things didn’t go so well.
The ‘Vikings’ benched Ponder in 2014 for rookie Teddy Bridgewater despite starting a total of 16 games and leading them to a playoff berth two years earlier. Ponder’s annual salary has wavered throughout his career, dropping from $6.3 million in 2011 with the ‘Vikings’ to $800K in 2016 with the ‘San Francisco 49ers.’
