Olivia De Havilland: Undisclosed Amount, Paris
Although Hollywood legendary actress Olivia De Havilland was raised by her mother and stepfather in Saratoga, California, and is British by origin, she still chose to settle down in Paris, France. De Havilland’s big break in Hollywood was with the movie version of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and she’s gained prominence with such films like The Adventures of Robin Hood, Gone with the Wind, To Each His Own, and The Heiress. The last two movies had even earned her two Academy Awards. The actress quietly lives a retired life in a townhouse in Rue Bénouville, near the Bois de Boulogne park. Although the reason for her setting up base in Paris was her second husband, Pierre Galante, who was the former editor of Paris Match, the actress has come to love the La Ville des Lumières – the City of Lights.
