Lena Headey – From Broke to Queen of Westeros
A one-off show Lena Headey played when she was only 17 is said to be the moment when a casting director discovered the actress. She went on to star in her first movie role in Waterland, then proceeded to mainstream film roles in Gossip, Possession, The Brothers Grimm, 300, and The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. Her most successful and notable role, though, came through HBO’s Game of Thrones TV series, where she plays the cunning queen of Westeros, Cersei Lannister. There was a point in time where Headey filed for bankruptcy, and told reporters she only had $5 in her bank account following her divorce. That was in 2013, and she has since recovered, and even bought a new home in Sherman Oaks, California.
