Hugh Laurie– Married to Jo Green for 33 Years
Shortly after they met, Hugh Laurie and Jo Green had their first child together in 1988, following which they got married a year later. While it’s mostly been a happy three-decade-plus marriage, things haven’t always been easy for this pair, especially not with the ‘Chance’ actor’s demanding career.
Landing a role on ‘House MD’ had Laurie relocate to Los Angeles while his wife remained in their native home in North London, where they had both decided they would raise their children. This resulted in eight years of the thespian and his family living apart. Thankfully, not even the distance between them would stop Laurie and Green from loving and supporting each other, which is why these two have lasted together this long.
Mitch McConnell and Elaine Chao – 29 Years
When Mitch McConnell’s first image ended after 12 years, he thought that he wouldn’t find love again. Yet, he met Elaine Chao in 1993, and the two immediately clicked. The American businesswoman met McConnel as she was interested in politics, and she later became the Secretary of Labor and later the Secretary of Transportation.
Chao has been supportive of her husband, attending several events with him and alone in the two years prior to the 2014 U.S. Senate elections. Her father also gave McConnell a personal gift in 2008 after Chao’s mother passed away and her fortune was estimated to be between $5 and $25 million.
