We still can’t believe that Woodstock initially publicized itself as a countryside retreat for the weekend, a claim that the attendees would probably beg to differ with all said and done! With spiritual gurus, dozens of musicians, and half a million people in the mix, it was one big celebration of everything good in this world!
While we have romanticized multiple aspects of the show for nearly five decades, we often forget that it was ultimately a party-hard event. This picture of people headbanging, even before the word came into existence, does an excellent job of reminding us!
