Noticing the hype, an American billionaire named Alan Gerry procured Woodstock’s site in 1998 to build an institute on the grounds where singer Jimi Hendrix and guitarist Carlos Santana delivered the most iconic performances of their lives. Since then, Bethel has also become a historic pilgrimage place for all those who support the counter-culture movement.
