Tim Hardin might not have been as big as some of the other stars who graced the event, but he can certainly be proud of being a part of an iconic moment in the history of music. With a great amount of fervor, he sang the Top 40 hit If I Were a Carpenter, with only his guitar as an accompanying instrument.

Just moments before his performance, Hardin here, photographed writing something intensely on a piece of paper; who knows, one of his many songs could have come into being right then and there!
