The Best Royal Wedding Dresses

The whole world watched in wonder as actress Meghan Markle married her British prince, Prince Harry. Millions of viewers all over the world was enraptured in this seemingly fairy tale-like event. From the venue to the guest list, people absorbed and examined every detail and the Royal Wedding soon became the most talked-about event of the year so far.

Of course, Meghan’s wedding dress got the most attention, which brings to mind past wedding dresses of queens and princesses. With the absolutely mindblowing degree of detail given to these gowns, they’re expensive enough to buy a small country! Good thing these royals have high net worths and can certainly afford them. Here are some of our favorite royal wedding dresses over the years.

Princess Diana of Wales – 1981

Very few wedding dresses in the last century or so are as iconic as Princess Diana’s when she married Britain’s Prince Charles. Very few royal marriages are as infamous, as well, as theirs ended in divorce and inevitably, tragedy. Surprisingly, the dress itself was designed by an obscure pair of designers, David and Elizabeth Emanuel. However, its spectacular 27-foot train, thousands of pearls, and intricate lace details makes it a true historical piece.
