Helen Shapiro – 76 Years
Success came early for Helen Shapiro in 1961 when she released her debut single titled ‘Don’t Treat Me Like a Child’ and followed it up with two more UK chartbusters. She was only 14 when she recorded those but soon earned the reputation of having a voice of a veteran singer.
Throughout the ‘70s to the ‘90s, Helen traveled extensively with a jazz band. She even became an actress who delivered mesmerizing performances on-screen in soap operas and on stage in musical theater. Even though she considered retirement in the early 2000s after releasing her penultimate album ‘Simply Shapiro,’ she returned after a hiatus with another memorable one a decade later.
