With 50+ years in the film industry, Robert Redford is a man that needs no introduction. The former actor and director revealed that his pursuit for freedom to be whoever he wanted to be got him into acting. As for being a director, it gave him control, which he lacked when he was a thespian.
Redford has been keen on venturing into projects that promote and foster the growth of the arts and culture, including the Sundance Film Festival and Wildwood Enterprises Inc. He might be retired now, but his works and contribution to American culture remain alive.
