Funnyman Kevin Smith became a household name when he wrote, starred, directed, and produced the 90s film, Clerks, which debuted his popular character, Silent Bob, one-half of the popular comedic duo, Jay and Silent Bob. The duo has since appeared in several other movies since, including Mallrats, Chasing Amy, and Dogma, and even had their very own feature film, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Indeed, Kevin truly banked on Silent Bob’s overweight persona for many years. However, he had a health scare which pushed him to change his diet and lose weight. He now sticks to an all-vegan diet, which seems to be doing wonders for him.

Susan Boyle – ~50 pounds lost

Susan Boyle was an overnight success the moment she wowed the world with her Britain’s Got Talent audition performance. The video of Susan singing the song from Les Misérables called I Dreamed a Dream went viral. Her success didn’t end there, however, as also made great strides in terms of her life and health by losing 50 pounds. She claims that she did not even need surgery for it—she just gave up junk food and sweets.
