In 2010, when Bryan Batt and his partner Tom Cianfichi wanted a home to call their own, they found it in the century-old cottage in Uptown, New Orleans, and fell instantly in love with it. Even though the 2,100-square-foot property went through extensive renovations by the famous designer Tom Collum in the 1980s, the couple made it their own by adding their favorite ornaments and antique furniture.
The whimsical place with its numerous french windows has an openness about it that’s incredibly refreshing. When the weather permits, they have to open the windows to let the breeze and natural sunlight in to make the place seem like a fancy treehouse.
