The construction workers tried clearing the path of the snake so that it could slither away and they could return to their tasks for the day. However, the creature was moving in an unusually slow manner. It showed no sign of leaving, which was concerning.
It’s worth noting that anacondas aren’t naturally fast on land and can only reach speeds of five miles per hour. National Geographic reports that these snakes are way quicker in the water, doubling their speed in that environment, so it’s best to steer clear of such spaces in the Amazon.
