The Inverted Bench Press: When Flexibility Meets Fitness

Bench pressing became an official Olympic event in 1896, and it’s widely recognized as one of the top exercises for building muscle and boosting strength. Maybe our contortionist friend here will inspire a new event—the “Upside-Down Un-Bench Press” by taking the exercise to a whole new level.

While most of us focus on our arms, shoulders, and chest, he’s incorporating his entire body into the exercise. It’s a bit of a topsy-turvy approach, but it’s definitely impressive. He’s got his flexors, legs, and back all working together, even if it looks uncomfortable. Unfortunately, his hips seem to have missed the memo on proper bench press form.
