Charming Charlie was founded in 2004 in Houston, Texas. It was best known for selling fashion accessories, apparel, beauty products, and gift items that were all arranged by color, which became its huge selling point. In fact, in 2010, it was awarded “Hot Retailer of the Year” and was among the “5,000 Fastest Growing Businesses” in 2013.
Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse as Charming Charlie met issues with regards to inventory and merchandising, which led it to filing bankruptcy at the end of 2017. It closed a total of 100 storefronts before re-emerging from protection in April 2018.
