Since it was founded in Philadelphia in 1933 by Alfred Angelo and his wife Edythe Piccione, the Alfred Angelo brand has been the foremost name for wedding dresses, as well as dresses for bridesmaids, mothers of the bride, flower girls, and more. They also carry wedding accessories. The Alfred Angelo chain was so respected, in fact, that it had over 2,500 stores in 34 countries at some point. Unfortunately, it came to light that the company had been in trouble for some time. In fact, they were sued of being unable to pay for their office space rent in the US. This led to a Chapter 7 filing on July 2017 and an immediate closure of all their stores.
