Large Retailers Which Have Filed For Bankruptcy

True Religion Apparel Inc.

True Religion is a brand of clothing primarily focused on jeans and other denim apparel. Founded in 2002 in California by Jeff Lubell and Kym Gold, it became a real favorite among high-income hipsters throughout most of the 2000’s.

In fact, by 2009, True Religion was being sold in over 50 countries by major department stores, including Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, and many more. Unfortunately, sales started declining in 2012 because of its high price point and the company’s stocks fell by 40%. By July 2017, True Religion had declared bankruptcy and closed 27 of its United States stores.
