Nasty Gal is the company founded by Sophia Amoruso. The story of the company has been widely told by its founder after publishing her memoir, Girlboss, which has also since become a Netflix series. Nasty Gal started out as an e-commerce platform and enjoyed much success as an online store.
Between 2014 and 2015, it opened 2 brick and mortar stores, and this was when their troubles began. By 2016, Nasty Gal had filed for bankruptcy. In February 2017, it was then acquired by a British group.
