Large Retailers Which Have Filed For Bankruptcy

People will always need a comfortable place to sleep on, so it’s a real shock that Mattress Firm, America’s leading retailer of—you guessed it—mattresses is currently bankrupt. In October 2018, it filed for Chapter 11 protection and has since moved on to closing 200 of their stores that were underperforming. Their financial advisors estimate a closure of a total 700 stores by the end of the year. However, they have received commitments amounting to $250 million from various investors, as well as $525 million as credit help, so there’s a real chance that Mattress Firm might survive just yet.
