Large Retailers Which Have Filed For Bankruptcy

Radioshack

Music can heal the world, but it couldn’t save Radioshack. Thanks to digital music and later, mobile apps that offered live streaming from the cloud, the once-popular brick and mortar music store found itself in need of debt relief. In February 2015, Radioshack filed for bankruptcy, which led to the closure of almost 2,000 store locations.

It was saved when it partnered with wireless cell phone operator, Sprint. Unfortunately, RadioShack found itself in trouble once again when that relationship soured, leading to its second bankruptcy filing in 2017. It has since re-emerged from bankruptcy in November of last year and has now joined the ranks of online retailers.
