Large Retailers Which Have Filed For Bankruptcy

Caché

Caché was predominantly a women’s clothing retailer with a heavy mall presence for several years. At some point, it boasted hundreds of storefronts throughout the country. In February 2015, it filed for bankruptcy, citing its lack of resources to reorganize the company. At this time, they closed over 200 of their stores, as well as sold and renegotiated many of its leases.

They continued to operate, however, after receiving refinancing amounting to $22 million from Salus Capital Partners. Just a month later, they closed the rest of their retail shops and thousands of women had a field day shopping for considerably marked down dresses in Caché’s “going out of business” sales.
