Sofia Coppola and Nicolas Cage – Cousins
Despite his substance abuse problems and despite going through bankruptcy in recent years, Nicolas Cage remains one of the most influential and bankable actors in Hollywood. This is not at all a surprise, however, as he is actually part of the Coppola Hollywood dynasty.
This, of course, includes his uncle, famed filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola who gave us The Godfather series of movies, as well as Francis’ daughter, director Sofia Coppola, who is Nicolas’ first cousin. Nic even appeared in The Godfather as a young man. He, however, didn’t want to bank in his famous family name, which is why he changed his last name.
