The most influential people in U.S. history that you won’t believe are still alive

Alan Greenspan — 97 Years Old

Alan Greenspan became a household name during his long tenure as Chairman of the Federal Reserve, serving from 1987 to 2006. He was appointed by President Reagan and served under four Presidents until his name became synonymous with economic policy.

Alan’s guidance of the American economy saw it through the Black Monday stock market crash in 1987, the 1990s dot-com bubble, and the early 2000s recession. His expertise in monetary policy and economics has also been influential in shaping financial thinking globally. It’s hardly surprising that Alan’s knack for cryptic yet insightful commentary on fiscal matters has also earned him the nickname “The Oracle.”
