Though it is a tough call between being capitalist or opportunist, some people try to make the best of such festivals! Since Woodstock was a three-day event, naturally, people required basic things like food and water, and because there’s a high demand from the crowd, some vendors hiked the prices for more profits!
As soon as the seller raised the price from $0.25 to $1, a few anti-capitalist in the audience went completely crazy! Things escalated quickly from a disagreement to a riot-like situation. Hippies got angry because it contradicted the love and peace theme of the fest, not realizing that their protest wasn’t so peaceful either!
