Charlie Ayers – ~$45 million
Charlie Ayers is a real dark horse in the culinary world. He actually started out with an illustrious career in the tech world as one of the executives of Google. He was, in fact, so high up in the organization that he had a whole chapter dedicated to him in the book The Google Story by David Vise. He functioned largely in the catering arm of the internet giant, handling a massive operation that provided a whopping 4,000 meals per day in all of the 10 cafes in Google’s headquarters. Much of his fortune comes from his payroll at Google, including a whopping $26 million in stocks.
