Emeril Lagasse – ~$70 million

Emeril Lagasse doesn’t only have several successful restaurants to his credit, but he’s also authored several cookbooks and starred in his own cooking shows. He was initially offered a college scholarship in music, but decided to attend one of the country’s foremost culinary schools instead at Rhode Island’s Johnson and Wales University. He then went on to work in France, where he was able to polish his skills. Returning to the United States, he then slowly built his own food empire, opening his first restaurant in 1990. He also takes on side jobs as a voice actor and a drummer.
