KIKO USA
KIKO USA is the American subsidiary of the KIKO Milano brand. The brand specialized in skincare and makeup products such as lipsticks, mascaras, beauty serums, and even nail polish. As of early 2018, it had 28 retail stores in the U.S., but 24 of them were shuttered after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in January.
The financial troubles were due to KIKO USA’s high costs of operations, which could not be supported by their lacklustre sale performance. In 2017, sales from their e-commerce portal was seen to increase, but not enough to protect its physical locations.
