Large Retailers Which Have Filed For Bankruptcy

Remington Outdoor is a firearms manufacturer founded in Madison, North Carolina in 2007. After 11 years of operation, they filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in March 2018. The company has been struggling of late since the infamous Sandy Hook school massacre of 2012 wherein one of its branded rifles was used by the killer.
Since then, Remington attorneys have been fighting lawsuits in relation to the massacre, while at the same time, sales began decreasing in light of the national debate on gun control. They have since come out of bankruptcy in May of 2018.
