Rip Torn and Sissy Spacek – Cousins
Veteran actor Rip Torn got his start in the acting industry in the late 50s, and remains one of today’s most prolific character actors. At the height of his career in the early 80s, he was even honored with an Academy Award nomination. With his firm foothold in the industry, he then took it upon himself to help his younger cousin, actress Sissy Spacek, enter the business. It was through his influence that she attended film school. This then led to a string of acting jobs, including starring in the 70s cult classic Carrie, which made her a real pop culture icon.
