Julia Child – ~$38 million
One might say that Julia Child was the original celebrity chef. No doubt she was a trailblazer in the culinary world. In the 30’s, she was actually a writer by profession. After experiencing the restaurants of France, however, she became so inspired that she endeavored to bring French cooking to the American public. She did so by publishing 19 cookbooks, including the classic Mastering the Art of French Cooking. She also appeared on several TV shows. Throughout her long and illustrious career, Julia earned countless awards, including several Emmys and a National Book Award. She passed away in 2004, just 2 days shy of her 92nd birthday.
