World’s Richest Chefs

Mario Batali – ~$25 million

Mario Batali’s rise in the culinary world is a very interesting one. He already had a degree from Rutgers University in Theatre, Economics, and Spanish. He later attended one of the best cooking schools in the world, Le Cordon Bleu in London, but soon quit as he felt that the training was inadequate. He then scored an apprenticeship with Marco Pierre White, which provided him with the advanced techniques that he craved. He then went on to focus on Italian food, training intensively in Italy to do so. When he finally went back to America, he went on to establish the best Italian restaurants that New York has ever seen.
